Beginner question: How do I make more gold?

Should I just follow my bowmen around? I usually get to a point where no more gold drops. I don't wander very far from the camp....should I be moving farther out?

Well you can wander into the forest to find things like gold chests for extra gold. otherwise initially your bowmen are your primary source of gold. A secondary one is your main encampment which will have a chest every morning with gold in it. Generally though you will want to upgrade it and soon try to get a farm up which presents a more stable source of gold.

There are 2 main ways to make gold. 1 is by letting your bowmen hunt. They normally only hunt rabbits which gain 1 gold but you can also go into the woods and run past deers. As the deer then run towards your kingdom you can kind of push them towards it and your bowmen will kill the deer for 4 gold.

The second way is by making farms. When you've upgraded your castle 2 or 3 times an extra shop opens selling hoe's. Buy these and then let your builders build on the water streams. They will build a farm for your farmers to work on creating continious money for you.

Go for simple farm first. Upgrade it only when it's behind some walls/towers. Farming tools are not cheap early on, so leaving farmers exposed during night near a lightly defended position is not the best idea ever. Unless you believe in the mercy of RNGesus?

I found that to have max gold input early on and try to sustain it, you gotta spam archers.
At least the first 5 people should be archers, then a mason to set up 2 weak walls to def a bit. Then spam more archers and spend all your time trying to chase dear to your castle so archers can take em down. Do not expand your castle too fast or cut down too many trees (except in order to get to farm).
Works like a charm for me.

Of course, after having at least around 12 archers and 2, maybe 3 masons, then start to focus on getting farms up.

For me the best way is:
Rabbits only spawn on grass
grass is only growing on clear ground
so you get archers,cut down the forest and the money should come in

my builders wont build on the water streams, help?
