What I think you'll find is that the position of the farm, and the amount of free space around it, has more to do with limiting the amount of farmers you can have than anything else. If you build a farm squeezed between two walls, for example, there won't be any room for fields and, as a result, it will not need (or support) any farmers at all. Naturally, the opposite is true — more room > more fields > more farmers... The hard limit is rarely reached in actual games.

Farms are only one way to make money. Yes you can get 6 people on it. But do you really want to?

Depends on how big your ininterupted terrai near the farm is for exemple if you have a farm but 2 walls right next to each side of the farm id say 1 but if you have a good space between them id say maximum 5 farmers but really depends on available space
