Catapults and towers a waste of time to build
If you just build an army of archers this game becomes very easy. However, if you build catapults, behemoths have a chance to throw back your ammunition which can completely shatter your defenses and allow them to break through. Towers don't seem to add much benefit except requiring archers to man them thus reducing your army at the borders.

When I did a playthrough using cataplts and towers, I would consistently have my walls destroyed during blood moons and would be racing the next few days to rebuild. I then only used archers (with knights) on my next playthrough and completed the game with ease.

Long story short. Towers need a buff for the archers manning them (would also be nice to be able to unnasign and reassign archers to them). Catapults need to either have a very small chance for rocks to be left outside the gates, or none at all. Thoughts?

Yeah,i agree.
Usually with catapults,I would need 2 builders per catapult +2 spare, whereas without is just 2/1 to build.
The towers are going to ge an upgrade come New Lands.

@The Toileter Good to know that the expansion will improve the towers, though I still think the main improvement for them would be to allow them to be assignable.

According to what I've seen, the upgrade allows a trebuchet to be placed on the tower and requires workers to man it,lowering the chance for friendly fire also.
Btw archers in towers also hunt rabbits:krabbit:.
The idea is that you cannot get 50~ archers and win the game,it motivates you to apply solid drefences to get you through the nights.

A balista, not a trebuchet will be able to be on the towers

after new lands, towers will atually be able to hunt bunnies and (hopefully) get coins, so the towers will get more usefull, for the catapults, its like a insta 5 buff arrow in your face, can really hurt breeds, so I diseagree on this, for the fact that they launch back your stones, meh, its the game after all,I dealth with it

It's not about dealing with the stones. It's the fact that, as it's so easy to recruit archers they become much more effective than catapults (and safer for your army). If you haven't done a run using just archers and knights (with a few workers) and ignore towers and catapults you might see what I mean. There is no high risk high reward with catapults, just high risk.

Towers are indeed just a waste of money and time, because they almost don't help you. But catapults are extremely usefull, although costing 2 build per catapult, it's worth the money! Catapult can desemate 80% of a bloodmoon attack in ONE SINGLE blow! You do have to get lucky for something like that to happen though.

Yes but a horde of archers (very easy to aquire and require no one to operate them) is just as effective. Plus the main problem of behemoths throwing rocks back at you does not exist with archers. With a volley of arrows you don't have to worry about luck.
