Hey, I'm the maintainer of the Steam version of this game. If there's any issues with running it, please post them here so I can catch them more quickly! Thanks!

I have a question regarding certain achievements. Do the achievements "Safety First" (clear within 5 deaths or less) and "A Clean Completion" (clear the game without a game over) require clearing World EX?

They do not, world 6 is sufficient.

Yes, normal worlds only.
Also no needs Moon Shards.

Umm... Then I wonder why I didn't get either of those achievements? I've already cleared 6-6 without every moon shard and gotten the normal ending, and then I went back to get a moon shard in 2-1 that I had intentionally skipped earlier (which I had done because I wanted to see the normal ending first). And then I beat 6-6 again to unlock 6-7, and then I cleared that to unlock World EX. And, on my current file, I have no deaths and no Game Overs. (Anytime I died, I simply reloaded my save file, and I've never even come close to a Game Over.)

So, did a glitch cause those achievements to not trigger for me or something? Or, do the deaths that I reloaded my save file after still count? (But, even then, I've never experienced a Game Over, so even if that were true, I still should've gotten "A Clean Completion" at least.)

Problably, in my first time in Steam, i not recieved one of my achievements, check this achievements in game (Collection) instead Steam, if you recived in game, probably Steam Glitched.

I just checked Collection, and no, I don't have either of those achievements showing there either. So, I have no idea what happened. Maybe I'll just start a new file and quickly race through the game again, not worrying about moon shards (and I can go for the main game speedrun achievements while I'm at it, perhaps).

Alright, I finally got around to doing another run through the game, which was a segmented speedrun with a time of 0:44:51 upon clearing world 6-6, getting me the under-3-hours ("Run For It, Tobari!") and under-65-minutes ("You're Somethin' Else, Tobari!") achievements, and while I was at it, I didn't use any shop during this run as well (getting me "Tobari the Frugal").

And, of course, there were no deaths or Game Overs in this run, and this time the game did give me "Safety First" and "A Clean Completion". So, I have no idea why I didn't get those achievements the first time. I bet something glitched in the game or Steam somewhere, but I have those achievements now, which is good.

(And, it sure is sweet to get five achievements simultaneously!)

It'd be helpful for me if either of y'all could open up Windows Event Viewer and find the crash log for the game. I have my suspicions as to what's going on.

Also firing up dxdiag and telling me what your video driver is.

Issue with dll files maybe? Updating drivers fixed it for me and hopefully will work for others, but posting the logs just in case problems arise again. Maybe it can help.

The game is running at 140fps which makes it impossible to play it. How can I cap the framerate?
