Nioh 3
This is one incredibly lazy sequel lol *RANT*
what happened here? At least 80% of the yokai are reused from the first 2 games (Gaki with a club is NOT a new yokai lol) So off the top of my head, the only new yokai are the sand tornado pot one, the mermaid, the gremlin, the giant gaki, the worm, the horseman, the squirrel, the jailers, the ballooning red face guys, and the giant long neck with the lightning attacks.

So thats 9 new yokai out of 60+ regular ones? Don't get me started on bosses either. A ton of the gear is reused too (welcome back Warrior of the East set) They give you these metroidvania style movement abilities based on spirits, but they're just contextual button presses instead of actual abilities.

Exploration would've been way cooler if I had to actually look for grapple points and flying bird flip walls instead of just hunting down gold misty spots. The invisible walls are also obnoxious - can't tell you how many times I've tried a double jump->dash across a gap to a ledge I can clearly reach, only to hit an invisible wall and fall and die.

And enemy placement. wtf happened here too? Despite a sizable roster of enemies, they just throw fricking jailer yokai and crabs at you nonstop. Like wtf

finally not sure if yall are familiar with Japanese historical figures and their general history, but to put into context how absurd the stories are in these games: it's the Japanese equivalent of teaming up with George Washington and Ben Franklin to fight Abraham Lincoln with spirit animals over magic rocks.

Anyway, lazy as piss game. very disappoint.

I definitely enjoyed Nioh 2's story better, this one is kind of all over the place at all times. Though the combat is much better, the new parry system is beautiful. I also liked Nioh 2's skill tree system better, where you earn skill points for a weapon by using it. The dumbed down one in Nioh 3 is kind of lame.

Overall I think I enjoyed Nioh 2 more, but that isn't to say I don't like Nioh 3.
My first Nioh, all assets are new. My perception of the game is totally different to yours but I didn't need to start a thread ranting about it because no one would care :)
they wanted the ubislop audience
nothingburger of a 'rant'
You have to understand, they're just a small indie company. :(
it's funny to me, because I played the first two and couldn't finish either one. This is the best Nioh game so far and is so much better than Rise of the Ronin.

Well done OP.

Now onto Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Zelda, Mario, Persona, Doom, and DnD-related message boards to let them know too.

Cause I want the devs to spend more time and push back releases even further to make more unique enemies that I've never seen before so that observant, reasonable, intelligent, and civil players that can actually count won't be disappointed at having reused yokai.

It's a good thing you weren't lazy enough to check the Yokai Illustrations before posting and accurately remembered the enemies from the previous Nioh games before making this informative and useful thread.

Absolutely wonderful person.
I mean, Japanese history only has so many yokai they can pull from.
