Not sure what you mean by saying when you "press C he just stands right back up instantly". I mean, if he stands back up, that implies he's been crouched already.
In the options, by default C is the key for crouch, while holding C down will make him go prone. Also I believe that you can change the behavior from having to press to key to having to hold the key down, and I think that might be what goodmate meant above about checking the settings.
Before anyone suggests it, obviously the C key on my keyboard works considering I'm using it.
I hate C for crouch and always use Ctrl, and I did in SGW3 too. There's a problem though in that you have to reset it every time you restart the game, but I always just swapped Ctrl and C, so it only takes a second.
You may not want to use Ctrl, but just for the hell of it you could try a different key and see if the same thing happens.
Otherwise, I have no ideas. I've been following this forum for a awhile and whil the game has some bugs, I've never read of anyone saying what you're saying.
No, what I mean is key bindings aren't saved after you close the game. You can change almost anything to another key and it will work fine while you're playing until you close the game. Next time you start up you'll have to re-bind, because it all reverts to default. I think they're planning on fixing that.
Cool, it only released in April! We'll wait patiently. ;) Seriously, is there a way to fix this?
I'm kinda surprised they haven't replied to this, actually.
Just in case you haven't tried it already, take a look at the system settings for your keyboard... the ones outside of SGW3. The "Ease of Access Keyboard Settings" and the "Keyboard" control panel have some settings that could cause your keys to act... oddly. Specifically, I'd be looking for any setting (or combination of settings) that cause two keystrokes to be repeated so quickly that when you press down once on the "C" key, two presses are actually sent to SGW3 causing you to crouch and stand immediately. If I double-tap the "C" key (crouch default) quickly this is the behavior that I see on my end. It is possible that something is causing this "double-tap" to happen while you're only pressing the key once.
Also take a look at any software provided by your keyboard manufacturer if applicable.
I would indeed expect this behavior to be happening in other games as well, but it may be somehow idiosyncratic to SGW3? It might be worth a look if you haven't already.
Good Luck
