Game crashes on startup
I bought this game a few days, tried to launch it and it crashes at the CI games logo. I've tried skipping the intro logos and i've validated game files. I've updated my drivers too.I also contacted CI games support over 2 days ago now and they've not replied.

here are my specs: Windows 10
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz
GTX 1060 3gb
16gb ram

Your graphics are good, your RAM is good, the CPU is good and Windows 10 is great, I would navigate within Steam menu and check the integrity of your game files. If you still have the same problem, delete, reboot and reinstall game.

Just trying to help because this is a really good game once you get started. To check integrity and fix, go to your library, right click on the game and choose properties. Next under properties go to Local Files. You will see a menu so choose Verify Integrity. Any issues it will fix. You need to be patient because it takes some time to perform that check...........or not. :)

ah I've already refunded the game lol. Though I had tried verifying integrity. CI games support also replied with a solution though that didn't work either, so yeah. Really wanted to play this game but what're ya gonna do? Anyway thanks for the help though dude!

This is what CI games support told me to do, maybe someone else will find this useful.

Dear Player,

Please follow these steps:

1. Download and install ' Update for Universal C Runtime' link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows - for operating system other than Win10

2. Download and install latest version of 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable' link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

First go here> https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=49093 download it and install.

Now if you run into the same problem as I did with it being stuck on the search, press the Window key + R and type in "service.msc" then look for "Windows Update" Right click it then press stop.

Then run the installation again.

If above solution won't work there is a 64bit executable in the Steam game folder.

The original SG3.exe which is automatically put on the desktop by steam when you install it, is not meant for 64bit systems.

Hope this helps!
Gravedig but I had exactly the same issue and was able to solve it by deleting the game save files and then it booted straight up. HTH

This was a corrupted save issue in my case. Checking file integrity and uninstalling/reinstalling did nothing, but if I disabled Steam Cloud it ran fine, but of course I lost all progress. I was done the main campaign and the Lydia DLC, and almost through the Sabotage DLC. I don't think I will bother restarting!

EDIT: I downloaded a save game that was 100% on the main campaign and Lydia DLC, but did not include the Sabotage DLC, so all I have to do it redo that. Just about perfect!
