CI Games has installed Red Shell, a SPYWARE in your PC

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has got the Red Shell.

It is a Spyware which recopilate data about your internet navigation, programs installed and more info of your PC to send it to another companies to earn money.

Don't buy more games of this company.

After read this news, I decide to not buy another game of CI Games.

I've just noticed, several of my files are now locked and I keep getting, 'Access Denied' something that's never happened before. All these files I have always been able to use and now, no access to them. >:(

Shouldn't need to, these files have always been accessable to me until just recently. I am the system adminstrator.

Just a note; I run everything as administrator. No-one else has access to my PC or, so I thought.

Thanks to all the users who have reported this in posts and in reviews. I know now to add all CI Games to the "not interested" list and blacklist them and their games entirely.

quake champions apparently did redshell without .dll files

so maybe ci games still has redshell, its just hardcoded or something like that so people cant find it. It may or may not be behind those locked files you could previously access

I can see that some paranoia is spread here. Fb, Google spies on you instantly, other games probably have redshell or other ♥♥♥♥ hardcoded.

Redshell is literally just a piece of software that checks whether you clicked on certain ads to determine whether those ads led you to buying a game. Regardless of the very critical privacy concerns, it's not some nefarious software that is going to lock files on your computer.

In any case, for a gaming company to include files of that type in their game, knowing good and well, what it's for, is beyond trust.

I do know this, I created this account with an email that serves no other purpose other than, Steam and it's becoming a gateway for advertisements from places I've never visited.
