I can't get my rifle to shoot!

I am just starting to play games on my computer and am very new to this Sniper game. I am only at the point where I use the drone for the first time and am trying to shoot from up on the hill. I have tried the prone position, using the bipod, slowing my breath, but the rifle won't shoot. I have dialed in the distance but no matter what I try the gun won't shoot. Someone PLEASE help me understand what I am doing wrong?? So far I like the game but am getting sort of frustrated. HELP!!

I have even tried kneeling behind the brick wall with my bipod down using the wall for a brace and my rifle still won't fire! Dialed in distance too!

You sure you don't have to use specific ammo? Does the game tell you to kill someone at that moment?

Right now I only have 2 kinds of ammo and I have tried both. Someone else asked the same question and someone said to use the wall as a support and that person was able get his rifle to shoot after trying that.

After reinstalling there has been a change. Now when I push the button to aim, it stays in the aim position. Before I had to hold the button down to stay in the aim position. Is it normal for the bar on the right side to move downward while holding on to the trigger? The rifle still won't fire though.
