How do you Save?
I read that the game saves when you use the workbench, sleep etc., but this isn't working for me. I keep losing progress and the only way the game appears to save is if I complete a mission and RTB. Any ideas? Maybe a save button would have been a great idea?

There is no manual save! the game saves during the process of a mission, if you die during the mission you will be placed back inside the mission at a point determined by the game to continue the mission.

If during the mission you exit the game you will re-start in a safe house to commence the mission again.

The save system is no different to GRW, HellGhost has his opinion and believes everybody should agree! I don't :steamfacepalm:

I do like the game, but I have little time, so I like to have a guarantee that my progress is restored when I can get down to some gaming. This game is proving to be too much of a headache to bother, so it has lost its appeal almost instantly. Such a shame, as it shows some good ideas in many areas, just lacks the most elementary of things.

Good, because now you see how everyone else feels about you.

Yeahhh the group is evenly split 50/50 on this one. That's fine though, this game isn't for everyone.

Don't bother answering, that was a rhetorical question. I'm also unsubscribing to this discussion so save your future excuses to yourself.

Are there any plans to add a manual checkpoint save to the game or is that out of the question? I am completely stuck because there is no way to manually save a game in progress and the large-world you are working in makes it very difficult to make continuous progress, enjoy the game AND finish the current mission before exiting.

I only have small segments of time I can play this game and no matter how fun the gameplay is or how great the large maps are or anything else, I am finding that I regret buying this game because it will not allow me to play the same way other games allow, with a feature that is relatively standard elsewhere and expected from a new title. I cannot play the game as designed for very long. This game started out as an adventure but quickly became a pain-in-the-ass I can't return and I dread trying to continue the campaign because I know exactly what will happen.... I won't have time to finish a mission before I have to leave and it is "Ground Hog Day" all over again!

I love the basics of the game but the moronicly-long auto-save interval and lack of manual saves have conspired to make this game hard to continue with because of the frustration it engenders. It ISN'T FINE that this game isn't for everyone. You can't return it and you can't know of this show-stopper until you buy it!

Wow, I have not even played my first mission and I am already regretting buying this game. I get many interruptions, this means that every time I will have to start over... totally sucks.

The viewpoint is also horrid... too close in, makes it very disorienting when running or driving.

I have played Remains of The Day at Konzori Village about 3 times now. Made it WAY past that. The save animation showed up at least a couple of times. When I quit and then load later it takes me WAY back in the game. Is there a fix?

I detest autosaves without option for manually save. Many of us can not sit at computer and play all the time all day and night long. We go to school, we go to job, we go with family and friends, we go to bed... If I need and want to go, I want to save whenever I want so I can go -whenever I want! I don't want to be late because of playing to the next autosave checkpoint. I also do not want to repeat a part of the game just because there was no checkpoint at the moment I left computer.

The solution to your problem is very easy, pause the game, there are a couple of ways to accomplish that. Next, alt+tab out of the game and go do what you have to do. When you have more time go back to the game and play it some more. Unless you're one of those idiots that believe a computer has to be shut off when you're not using it, this will solve the problem.

Those are checkpoint saves. The game doesn't load checkpoint saves when you quit the game. It only loads you back to the safehouse. There's likely a complicated technical reason for this.

Well, the game lost all my key bindings and lost my save game....screw this game.
