Open World

I havent read a lot about the game even though Im interested a lot in it but I have one quick question.
I know it says "Open-World" in the game tag and descriptions there and there but I was wondering how much "Open-World" it is?

Are individual missions opened like in the early "Far Cry" where you are kinda limited on where to go but when you reach the mission area, you are free to approach as you see fit or is it "Wildlands" open-world, where the whole map is opened to you and you do the missions in the order you want, being also able to freely roam anywhere?

Cioncerning your comparison it is more like Wildlands, you can move freely on the map, then when you go to one of your safe zone (caves), you will be able to choose and arrange/modify your equipment, choose the missions you want to run, etc.
