Yeah, I know. Theres a Georgia in Russia too, that's where the game takes place.
Um... Georgia is very much a country in no way affiliated with Russia. Its also in on/off conflict with Armenia. If you do a little research on the region, the game becomes much more interesting. The culture is similar to Russia, but then again different enough to separate from the Soviet Union and survive on its own.
On the original point, yes, the music is unbearable after you sit through the 5 minute loading screens several times. I find myself trying desperately not to switch regions unless it is absolutely necessary.
