Why is there so much hate for this game?

Im loving this game so far. I have found this to be a wounderful sniper sim in a beautiful open world. How a reviewer could possibly give this a 5 is beyond me. I have had almost no technical issues with this game and it runs very well on my Alienware 15 R3. Im maxxed out in 2K with 60 fps. It looks beautiful and runs smooth. The world has a ton of stuff to do and only a entitled millenial could possible think this open world is barren. The sniping mechanics are the best in any game, hands down. Im only 6 or so missions in but I dont understand the hate. So far I would rate it on par with Sniper elite 4 and a much better military sim that Ghost Recon Wildlands. Maybe something horrible happens later in the game but this is a solid 9 in my book, then again Im just a 40 something gamer who has been playing FPSs from the beginning, take it for what its worth.

The beta was very buggy, which probably hurt impressions. It's the best recent sniping game period. I didn't like SE4 how you couldn't tell where shots land and it almost forces you to use aim assist. In SGW3 I have control over shots

Another note is that it's discounted (at least in the US) compared to AAA games. This doesn't excuse problems but is worth considering

It's pretty cheap in Southeast Asia region as well. It's a definite pay and I'm also looking at Sniper Elite series.

Series have quite medicore reputation. Also it comes from non AAA dev.

Ubisoft and likes of that have strong fanboy army with tham and also we all know how they can affect reviews.

Ofcourse Ubi and other AAA studios have money to polish games more, though do they that. Well no. It is clear with Wildlands.

Sometimes I`m just happy to be 40+ gamer, coming from the C64 I`m able to appreciate games in general. I enjoy Wildlands as a single player and I`m enjoying this game as well.
It`s not easy to make the jump from a linear level design to an open world gameplay where you have as much freedom (sniping, all out assault, stealth) as you have here.

Nowadays people need to complain about everything. Who needed FOV adjustments a few years ago? And then the annoying price comparison. Asking for a sale directly at release day, but spending 40$ at Mc Donald`s the same evening...

And I actually like Lydia`s accent... Would be cool to see/ hear more of her than the single mission you can "be" with her... ;-)

I did not play that much yet, but I don't understand the hate too... From what I have played it was pretty good. I liked it! Only thing that really sucks are the options, I absolutely hate motion blur and don't see why they did not make an option to disable it (Yeah I know you can disable it in text files, but still)
Plus it would be nice to get the hud to shift to the sides on a 21:9 monitor.

What hate?, most people seem to be liking the game, and the majority of the 'negative' reviews are technical problems.

Yep, I think its a fun game, and don't regret buying it at all. I do think it needs a few patches, and am holding off until then, but in the short time I played it, seemed very promising, with gorgeous graphics (to me, but maybe I'm not as picky as others) and smooth gameplay. (but, again, I'm very satisfied with 1080 resolution, and don't care about 4k)

Anyway, I'm glad I bought it, and looking forward to play it when it gets a few patches.
