Hey there! If you're having problems with 100ft Robot Golf, you're in the right place!

Once the game has launched, we'll be updating this thread with common issues and workarounds, as well as keeping a running log of what's in each update.

If you have an issue not in this thread, please start a new one and we'll make sure to track down what's going on.


I'm having trouble connecting to online multiplayer games!
100ft Robot Golf supports both UPNP and NAT Punchthrough, so in 95%+ of cases it Should Just Work(tm).

However, if you're having issues connecting to games (or if you're in a strict NAT setup), you can force a direct connection session by having the host open or forward port 56074 for both TCP and UDP on their router and/or firewall. This should also solve cases where guest players can't select characters on hosts.

Help! I'm on Windows 7 and everything is purple!
This happens if you don't have the DirectX 11.1 update for Windows 7 SP1 installed. Good news is that this is an easy fix! Just install the following update:

The game tells me it can't connect to Steam and that it's in Offline Mode!
This error will pop up if you launch the game manually without Steam running, or if there's a problem that prevents the game talking to Steam.

If this happens, you can still play the game, however an offline save file will be made and Steam functionality like achievements and online multiplayer will be unavailable.

Some solutions we've seen work:
- Restart Steam and/or your computer. Yeah, I know, but we've seen it work.
- Make sure you're running Steam "as Administrator"

If you're getting this issue with a preview build and the above steps don't work, please email Dan and he'll give you an additional step that may help things.

What controllers does this game support?
As well as mouse and keyboard support, we've tested the following in house:
- DualShock 4 (wired)
- Xbox One Gamepad (wired and wireless)
- Xbox 360 Gamepad (wired and wireless)
- Logitech F310

While we haven't tested these, we have device profiles for the following controllers thanks to our input middleware. Please let us know if they work/don't work!

When playing as Ernie or Camilla, each trigger controls both meters!
If you're seeing this, it's because we've detected you're playing with a DirectInput controller. Unfortunately, DirectInput treats the left trigger and right trigger as one axis, making it impossible to read both triggers at once. Our solution for that is to bind both power meters to one trigger so that you can still play the game.

To solve this, please use an XInput controller or Keyboard/Mouse.

Other Known Issues
  • Some GPUs may have issues with 150%/200% render scale and depth of field effects at the same time. If you encounter this, please stick to 100% render scale or disable depth of field.

March 19th, 2016 @ 7:09pm PDT - Build 1701628
  • Fixed a network issue that would cause some players to "half join" (they'd show up in matchmaking but be unable to select a character). This fix may also solve some issues where players occasionally freeze mid-game.
  • Fixed a network bug that would cause some players to never show up as dropped on the remaining clients if they lost a connection to the server in a 3 or 4 player game.
  • In-game Start/Options menu now pauses in local games.
  • In-game pause menu is now only controllable by the player that opened it.

March 19th, 2016 @ 11:22am PDT - Build 1701297
  • Triggers now function correctly when playing splitscreen with two XInput controllers that have different axis setups.
  • Improved multiplayer connectivity for players behind a NAT that have forwarded ports for a direct connection
  • Typo fixes in the results screen
  • Added more sarge.club members to the Sarge Club badge unlock condition

March 16th, 2016 @ 3:00pm PDT - Build 1696071
  • When playing with a DirectInput controller, Ernie and Camilla will change their powerup method to only require one trigger to control both power meters.
  • Fix for super rare bug where you'd occasionally fall through the world
  • Added more sarge.club members to the Sarge Club badge unlock condition

March 15th, 2017 @ 9:17pm PDT - Build 1694064
  • Bound additional secret keys for people with Overwatch muscle memory (activate weapon with Left Shift, activate/trigger Ground Pound with Left Ctrl when in air)
  • Added more sarge.club members to the Sarge Club badge unlock condition
  • Fixed issue with NAT Punchthrough clients that change ports immediately after connection
  • Added Offline Mode for people that have Steam isssues.
