Is there an impossible grindwall on the cube?

What is your cube level?
I have the impression that it is impossible to upgrade it. Mine is at level 46, and I'm starting to suspect that I'm draining my stuff in an attempt to upgrade it. I've been able to enhance my progression by synthesizing red items for a long time, but I'm spending them on alchemy.
Do you have any thoughts on this?

The cube was designing for when the game had 10x the drop rate. You are supposed to be able to synthesis like every 30 minutes, but now it takes hours to get 9 pieces. So the cube is always going to be severely underleveled until they fix the drops, allowing us to give it the proper amount of experience the design intended.

cube is currently 61 and its a real real real grind unfortunately. like "LOL" mentioned above the leveling process was supposed to be alot faster. but chests are useless now so your getting like 1/20 of the loot you used to

it sounds logical, but I periodically notice that some inexpensive green items suddenly bring significant progress to the progress bar. It seems like (it's purely based on the feeling) that developers sometimes turn on/off some kind of penalty to the cube experience. or maybe the cube is still buggy idk

dont remember what i got before the chests got messed up, was still in nightmare at that point so probably not that high. its just a matter of getting loot-synthesis-alchemy spam its slow and annoying
basicly your gona be behind on cube entire time unless they fix chests again so woudnt worry about it super much. its just bad rng wheter you downgrade your items 10lvls below character or get one for your level thats actually useful

i believe synthesis and alchemy should basicly give the same XP "could be wrong though"
think its based on the item/s value Alchemy is atleast
