maybe practice dodging dreadwings attacks. The main thing that kills me are his lackies. I think i just need a better weapon to clear them up. If you can 1-2 shot the lackies then just keep close eye on mass killing weapons to clear them, and dodge dreadwing practice. Then when getting hang of it, just tap when he comes down; although might take a long time. I use a shield with healing items. Also maybe start by cleaning up the area before attracking him. Then use food, a healing type, then attract dreadwing and do above.
All I can really say is practice dodging and mass destruction of lackies. Is what I did in the earliest versions of Giraffe edition. I am sure I'll beat him eventually, I just didn't have enough healing items apparently.
That is only suggestion I can think of if you haven't already been doing so.
It's misleading that the quest is tagged as green even when you haven't crafted any armor yet.
I would recommend to fight Dreadwing not befor you have tier 3 (titanium) armor. I tried it with tier 2 (tungsten) myself and it was just impossible.
In the Dreadwing fight, they can have like 10 Penguin soldiers shooting them at point blank range, and they just stand there in their "idle chatter" animation making comments about "why is he not dead yet". They only time they actually attack Dreadwing is if he targets one of them at the start of the fight, rather than targeting me, and the ship crashes down on top of them, and at that point they only melee it.
On a VERY rare occation, i did see Mick shooting at it, but Mick only did that like once or twice (one or two bursts) in like 4-5 minutes of the fight
1. because the npc only attacked the tank ones
2.i have used a grenade launcher which shot Proximity Mines, which either explode when a enemy is near, or after 10 seconds, they did not explode when a normal minion was near, again only with the tank ones
