Dreadwing difficulty
I am in full tungsten armor with tier 2 weapons but am getting completely owned by Dreadwing. His health is absurd and he knocks off half of my health bar with his almost unavoidable drop-to-ground attack, not to mention the bullets he fires and the penguins he spawns. I had some success hiding under the platform where you teleport in but only got him down to 3/4 health before dying (after using up 20+ bandages). Losing 30% of my pixels per attempt has made me completely disinclined to try again.

What am I doing wrong? I swear he never used to be this hard. Perhaps he is meant for higher tier weapons/armor but if this is the case why is the quest currently marked as green for me?

umm... He is about as hard as the initial Giraffe unstable release. Which was quite a task. Just keep at it I guess. Have not defeated him in 1.0, but did attempt in iron armor or which ever is the first you can get. got him almost down to half using that lovely teleport thingy.

maybe practice dodging dreadwings attacks. The main thing that kills me are his lackies. I think i just need a better weapon to clear them up. If you can 1-2 shot the lackies then just keep close eye on mass killing weapons to clear them, and dodge dreadwing practice. Then when getting hang of it, just tap when he comes down; although might take a long time. I use a shield with healing items. Also maybe start by cleaning up the area before attracking him. Then use food, a healing type, then attract dreadwing and do above.

All I can really say is practice dodging and mass destruction of lackies. Is what I did in the earliest versions of Giraffe edition. I am sure I'll beat him eventually, I just didn't have enough healing items apparently.

That is only suggestion I can think of if you haven't already been doing so.

So i killed Dreadwing just a few hours ago, and i did it with titanium armor and a rocket launcher. Pretty easy, because the adds (little penguins) he spawns, were one shot for me.
It's misleading that the quest is tagged as green even when you haven't crafted any armor yet.

I would recommend to fight Dreadwing not befor you have tier 3 (titanium) armor. I tried it with tier 2 (tungsten) myself and it was just impossible.
Question about this fight, specifically with NPC Crew Members. Are NPC crew members bugged when it comes to their combat/support roles in this fight? I notice at almost any other time in the game, the crew members are on point, giving me buffs and getting right into combat along side me.

In the Dreadwing fight, they can have like 10 Penguin soldiers shooting them at point blank range, and they just stand there in their "idle chatter" animation making comments about "why is he not dead yet". They only time they actually attack Dreadwing is if he targets one of them at the start of the fight, rather than targeting me, and the ship crashes down on top of them, and at that point they only melee it.

On a VERY rare occation, i did see Mick shooting at it, but Mick only did that like once or twice (one or two bursts) in like 4-5 minutes of the fight

probably a bug... I would guess at least, as I believe they are suppose to help even in boss fights like that. Far as I know.

as far as i have noticed, the penguin minions (except for those in tanks) dont seem to count as enemies
1. because the npc only attacked the tank ones
2.i have used a grenade launcher which shot Proximity Mines, which either explode when a enemy is near, or after 10 seconds, they did not explode when a normal minion was near, again only with the tank ones
