I kind of get it, it's a good game but can be laggy as hell

It sounds like it's the best game you've never played, not the worst game you've never played.

This happens to me as well but only if I try and start the game from the client, it plays fine if I use the shortcut for whatever reason

From what I've seen on the Steam Discussions for this game (and also some other social hubs relating to this game), Starbound tends to be CPU-locked most of the time rather than GPU-locked due to AI behavior being a big load which can only be handled by the CPU. (I've also heard that Starbound only utilizes one CPU core, but I don't know whether that is actually the case.)

Personally, I can run the game decently well on an AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor (3.00 GHz) with a GTX 750 Ti and 8 GB of RAM (certain things such as the big gate in the Ark still cause some FPS drops).

I can also run the game, though with performance issues (slow monsters and humanoids, unresponsive item use, minutes-long mission loading times), on an Asus brand laptop with an Intel Celeron CPU (1.86 GHz), integrated graphics and 4 GB of RAM; however, performance improves significantly when I play on a server rather than by myself (likely because a bunch of the processes which would normally clog up the PC's CPU are instead handled by the server).

<--looked at change log

you already have mods installed on a fresh install?

also it looks like your crash occured during the mod's loadup process so...not starbounds fault, seems like you have conflicting mods bruh, read the compatabilities of what you got stuck in there, see where your argument is.

More specifically the conflic made the OpenGL runtime break, wich causes an Access violation and in turn made yoru game crash.

Lines 36 -53 are where the bad magic happend. Hope this helped.

(also, I have 101 mods installed and I play with 4ppl and runs fine. Made a collection if ppl wanna search for it)
