Suzu is a pretty close second. Nearly everyone in the game is really predictable but she brings a lot of energy and fun to her predictability.
Ah, poor Malix. It was obvious the author didn't really like or respect him so he had to lose all of his battles to the incubi and even to you. But what I meant with 'rare breed of villain' was how he was so logical and only lost due to plot reasons. He'd shoot you right away rather than stalling by monologue or keeping you as a hostage for no good reason. And there were a lot more things hinting to courage and intelligence that made me like him. Like how he waited until the human party was over before entering your house, he lured you out with a phone call, he fought to the bitter end even if he was absolutely terrified (Damien route) etc.
(He's so nice and handsome too, ofc.)

Though Erik and James are very close in the running.
Some of it may be that I find the writing in Diana's route tighter and more intimate, as there's a time-limit on it, almost like a desperation, and the fact that the boys only saw her as the bad guy and a gold digger (thank you for that charming bit of slut-shaming, Sam, btw) made me empathize with her all the more.
I wish her the best in the sequel *fingers crossed!* - and by the best I do mean a route and a crown!
As far as more minor characters go, I was also utterly charmed by Eris, whom I found almost as cute as Malix, and who had the good sense to call it a day. I cheered when she lived. (I also cheered when she turns against Malix - not because I dislike Malix, but because I liked being proved right that she had her own agenda.)
Second is Erik. He's flawless. <3
