So I just bought Scourge: Outbreak... and got Scourge Project Ep. 1 & 2 for free... what is it?

I was browsing the Halloween sale and picked up Scourge: Outbreak because I'm always looking for fun new co-op style games to play online with people. Looks like I got a nice bonus game along with it!

Can somebody explain to me how Scourge Project 1 & 2 ties into Scourge: Outbreak? Is it meant to be a side-story, it's own independent game, bonus missions, or something else all together?

Either way, thank you Devs, that was a great gift that I was not expecting :)
