McAfee thinks the game is a virus and quarantines it

Every time I try to run this game, midway through the opening cutscene for level 1, McAfee Antivirus Plus decides that something in the game is a virus and quarantines it, crashing the game. The blocked file seems to be "gameoverlayrenderer.log", and it thinks it's a "Real Protect-SS!4B0DEFEF8F99".

Restoring the file doesn't work because it just does it again next time I run the game. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the same thing happened.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Most anti-malware stuff has a whitelist to prevent stuff like this from happening over and over.
Look for it, maybe there is one.

No, i've had no problems with most games and antivirus stuff, but i do know it's very annoying when the algorythms just slip off and do something completely out of place.

See, your problem is that you have McAfee installed. It's bloated, slow, inefficient, outdated, and only exists today due to contractual obligations that companies foolishly signed with them. Even the creator of McAfee hates what it has become. Get rid of it.
