Nutrient value
Is plant nutrient requirements per second, per minute or per growth (24 nutrients for 200 flax)

Edit: most logical is per item, is that correct?

Fx flax, (24V * 400s) / 200 flax = 12V per minute? So 1 fertilizer/min can supply 12 flax nurseries?

Yes, it is how much nutrients is required to grow one item.
Its per item. nurseries are bottleneck from belt speed. So if your belt can output 60 then you would need 24 * 60 = 1440 nutrient value per minute for that nursery. Basic fertilizer does 144 value so you would need 10 fertilizer per minute
Nutrient value is the total amount before a fertilizer depletes, max fertility is nutrients per second a fertilizer provides to plants.

Flax requires 24V, basic fertilizer has a nutrient value of 144 and max fertility of 12V/s. This means a flax nursery will output 30 flax/min, it takes 12s to fully consume basic fertilizer or 5 basic fertilizer per minute.

Higher tier fertilizer has both higher nutrient value and max fertility which means a single nursery will output more per second. Adv fertilizer has 720 nutrient value and max fertility of 144V/s. This means a single flax nursery outputs 360 flax/min and consumes 12 Adv fertilizer per minute, but if your belt speed is less than 360 then the amount of fert consumed also adjusts. Same logic with growth potions etc.

now if only the mushrooms didnt suck to make
I assumed that nutrition value had something to do with the maths, but what about this?

In my case (bonus and all), either for Flax or for Sage, that fertilizer consumption is always 8secs. So it's a 7.5/min.

So what Rai says is true, but all and all, that whole nutrition info is kind of misleading and pointless. You just grab how long a fertilizer (no matter what type it is) lasts over a minute.

So without bonus : 60/12 = 5.
With a +2 production : 60/8 = 7.5.
I think nursery get bonus from production upgrades, allowing them to take more V/s than it's showed on the info.

For example lets take flax and basic fertilizer. Flax need 24V to grow one item and basic fertilizer gives you 12V/s, so nursery will be producing 30 items per minute. Now if you take two production upgrades then you will have 50% bonus to building production so nursery will be taking 18V/s from basic fertilizer. So you should get now 45 flax per second from nursery. Of course fertilizer still gives only 12V, so that means nursery will be cosuming fertilizer much faster.
The fertilizer bar below says 8/sec, unless there's a bug, 8/sec is 8/sec :p

0.8s not 8s
Look at the shot above, or ingame... that gauge is not depleting at 0.8sec per fertilizer ;)
oh basic and the bottom number
I'm talking about advanced and the top number, my bad.
Yup! np.

I think all the UI is very misleading, and all that "V" data is trying to make this more complex than it is.

You can quickly calculate your needs by just accounting for how much plant it's gonna output (so you need a belt speed that follows the output based on the number of nursery on that belt) and the lower bar which gives you how much fertilizer per sec a nursery needs (based on the type of fertilizer).

I mean, the first post speaks for itself, how can you end up thinking a 1 fert/min can support 12 nurseries :p
