Seems more like you're just looking for reasons to get people to not buy the game for other reasons, as the reason you stated makes no sense at all. A game is more than just the music, or the composer. What's the real reason?
Art is stil Art and I can say as a great composer (and kai is great), he creates culture and will never be a rich man. His Music makes this Game better, fills it with immersion. And people like you don't know what creativity is. Nor you can feel the metainformation in Music. Period. Don't buy it to troll your self and leave us alone.
Kai IS a great composer ,but that doesn't excuse the fact that he ignored his fans that donated for his kickstarter. You can't rush art, that is true, the hurtful thing is that he focused on this game instead of delivering his long-time fans.No matter who you are ,if you disrespect ,then you don't get my respect anymore.
I understand your anger, and I have apologized for the long delay of my Kickstarter campaign a couple of times in various updates. Here's another personal apology just for you: SORRY!
The last Kickstarter update was 2 months ago. It as a "backers only" update with exclusive content and a bit of insight, so you should have gotten it if you backed the campaign.
Here are some of my thoughts on the matter:
1.) As a means of showing my gratitude for your patience and understanding, I'm giving all my backers the game soundtracks I've done in the meantime for free. So yes, the album is delayed. But as a compensation you'll get more than 3 hours of my music instead of just one. I explained all that in the previous updates, so you should have seen it.
2.) Regarding your claim:
Yes, that is true. I thought / hoped I could do both at the same time, but it turned out I couldn't. But - of course - I continue working on Journey Home now that the game is finally released.
3.) One of the reasons I joined the project "The Long Journey Home" was that creative director Andreas Suika is a friend of mine, and we've been in similar situations of "reconsidering our life concepts" when we both started our projects, appropriately named "Journey Home" and "The Long Journey Home". So the collaboration was a very personal endeavor for both of us, and not just a "contract".
The fact that I may have caused harm to his project by spawning comments like yours ("Avoid this project, Kai was a part of it") is firstly quite irritating, and secondly totally unfair. The team has put two years worth of hard work and love into the game. As an external freelancer, my personal Kickstarter story shouldn't spoil your appreciation of their work - and the great experience this game is offering.
4.) "Journey Home" isn't dead. In fact, I'm working on it right now.
Hope you understand.
-Kai
