planet landing?

In the video we see a scout ship landing on a planet... Will these be cut scenes or will our crew be doing away missions? Only just found this cool looking game... Wish I had known about the beta keys... Would loved to have tried this out :)

There's away missions! You land and mine resources on the planet via a side-on thing that's a bit like the old Lander game. You can also land at ruins and wrecks and things like that, where the action plays out in text form - think short Choose Your Own Adventure stuff. Going into a frozen cryogenic facility full of holographic aliens taking a break from their sleep. Exploring dangerous bug nests. Trying to raid ancient temples for the treasure within. Etc.

so no actual walking around? being able to stand on the surface and look up at the sky for example?

Planets viewed from the side-on and you stay in your Lander. But they're still very pretty.

saw a vid. and saw a searing planet? do things get hotter as in dont land in a sea of lava? and are there gas giants?

cool. I just saw the post about gas giants and good job being relisitic and letting us go inside them. im about to get my paycheck for the month. and so far going good. also are there water worlds we can go underwater in and land on the seafloor very far down? I just hope my comp can handle the game. well if not. if I ever get a gaming comp, this game will already be in my library

Not yet. We'd like to add those at some point. Though you can go underwater a little way on liquid worlds to mine resources under the waves, and there's a race that lives at the bottom of the sea ready to be visited more directly if we're able to :-)
