Server Room - sideways room
They put a jumping puzzle in a game with bad movement mechanics. I get why the movement is the way it is. It makes sense... but a f*#^ing jumping puzzle? This isn't Mario. To hell with this. There are too many good games to play to waste time with something that just pisses you off. Nobody wants to do the same thing 57 times ina row until they get it just right. Was this play tested? Not sure why the reviews are Very Positive.

Sorry to read that part annoyed you. Yes this has been playtest with a dozen players, veterans or casuals. And from v1 it has been simplified a lot.
I hope other aspects of the game will retain your attention and interest though !

I got nearly all jumping parts right at the first try, some on the second. There where locations where I needed some time to think and get to a solution (like it was intended i guess :D ). I actually enjoyed the jumping parts because I liked the way the "jet pack" lets you move.

hi im stuck in the server room i get so far and die before i can get any further because my screen gets smaller and smaller is this a regular part of the game or have i got my settings wrong please help doing my head in now

Normally when you move you vision is significantly reduced, but goes back to normal when you stop moving. Just looking around doesnt affect it. Is this the case with you?
rekwin Nov 7, 2017 @ 3:19pm
No, The sreeen does not go back to normal when I stop. You still have O2 but the you die anyway with some comment about gravity getting you down. I just go in circles and the screen goes black. Then I quit.

Well, i am confused and don't really know what you refer to. Is this always happening for you or just at a certain place in the game?
What I can say is:
- like mentioned above: normally your field of view is only reduced when moving with a control stick
- you die when you fall off a cliff, ofc the view is going black then ^^
- oxygen is not a serious problem... it's just a little pressure. You still have enough time to look around a think about things. You should regularly look after some new oxygen bottles ofc.

If this does not match your game experience, maybe you have technical issues.

This happens in the sideways server room which I never get beyond. I don't have VR so maybe this is an issue. I try to hop accross the furniture to get to the doors. This leads me nowhere since I just circle around and re-enter the same room again. This doesn't last long, however, since my vision then starts to contract to where it becomes just a slit. I can stop and do nothing but my vision continues to be reduced until the screen goes black and I die. The game then comments that I shouldn't let the gravity of the situation get me down (ha) and then places me outside the server room for the process to begin again. This happens even though I have more than 50% oxygen remaining. The oxygen is enough of a time constraint but the vision thing makes it impossible.

Let me add that I tried just standing there for a while by the terminal where you reset the server. I just stood there without turning around. After a few minutes, the vision thing started again and I was gone within minutes. No movement at all with plenty of oxygen. There apparently is a timer that starts when I reset the server.

I tried again and just timed the process. At about 5 minutes. the vision thing starts, Just after I am warned that I have 50 % oxygen left and about 7 minutes after I stopped moving, the screen goes black. If I leave the game and return later, it does not return me to the server room but back to the communications room.

it is part of the game -the vision disappearing - you have a time limit to get out of this disorientating level - the room is on its side you have to use the desks to jump until you can use your thrusters to get into a passage way - there are walk though videos you can watch if you get stuck (google for them)

I do use the furniture and my thrusters to get into a passageway only to be deposited back into the same room where I use the furniture and my thrusters to enter a passgeway which deposits me into a room where my vision ends half way through it.

you go into the passageway on the left and then you end up back in the room and then you go into the passage on the right (near the sofa and coffee table) and then it continues in a few more rooms but this room is time limited and it took me many attempts to get through it

I used this walkthrough to see what need to be done. I hated this section of the game good luck

I swear, this is why we can't have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ nice things. If you're at 57 attempts and you can't beat this, you're just a ♥♥♥♥ gamer. It's not a problem with the game, you are just absolute ♥♥♥♥. If there are better games to play, then go play them and quit your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. People like you are the reason games are consistantly dumbed down. God forbid you're challenged and forced to think for a moment. Welcome to the era where game devs are forced to appease whiny casual ♥♥♥♥♥ like yourself.

Your eyes start shutting and never open back up so you can even see where to jump. This level is poorly designed and feels so out of place with the rest of the game. Should just skip it if you fall asleep or "die", since you're obviously tripping on some O2.

Same for me. I thought I was buying an atmospheric walking simulator with horror-aspects and ended up with an Tomb-Raider-like parkour, time limit, stress limit and walking in a nice circle as a reward for moving through that crap, with less O2 left. If you at least would give an option to pass this puzzle for the ones who HATE this, I would go on playing. But the game ended here for me, refund requested. Congratulations for ruining the game with this puzzle! Solved a million puzzles in games so far, this one is of the worst kind.

There are a few points in the game that expect you to respond quickly and they're usually telegraphed pretty well. If you bought this game expecting a walking simulator, that's not entirely what it is. I thought the puzzles were really well done - it's not easy to blend a puzzle into the atmosphere and make it part of the story.

I can understand the desire to skip puzzles just to keep playing, but I think adding that feature would be something of a disservice to the game. They help reinforce the oppressive mood of the narrative and allowing you to skip past them would undermine that. You'd wind up in a different part of the map with no info on how you got there.

If you're having trouble with a section, I'd recommend watching a play-through on YouTube or Twitch for a hint.

I just finished this game today - the ending is absolutely worth the perseverance.
