Having issues getting Narcosis to run smoothly? You've come to the right place. Please provide as much detail as possible, and we'll do what we can to get you back in action...

One way to help expedite the debugging process is to include the following information in an email to [e-mail]:

• system specs (dxdiag.txt)
  
• config file (config.xml) (C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Honor Code\Narcosis\Resources\Data\Config)
  
• output_log.txt file (Right-Click Narcosis > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files > Narcosis_Data > output_log.txt)
  
• (if applicable) Crash logs folder (Right-click on Narcosis > Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files > eg "2017-03-29_061222")

Known Issues:

1) [FIXED] Workaround for using Oculus Rift on Steam.
—Close SteamVR
—Launch the game with the Play option.
—It should present you with an option "Launch Narcosis in Oculus VR Mode"


2) [FIXED] Occasionally when rendering the pause menu in VR, the menu may become askew.


3) [FIXED] Failed to initialize player (error) AKA Pink Screen
—If you encounter this issue please make sure your DirectX version is up to date.
—Narcosis requires DirectX 11 compatible hardware.
—Windows 7 can have some troubles with Unity and DirectX 11 games. Please install this update if you have DirectX up to date and it's still not working : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36805
—Set the Launch Options (Narcosis > Properties > General > Set Launch Options) to use the following "-force-d3d11"

4) [FIXED] Constant input on menus
—Please make sure you have the latest Windows Update installed.

5) [FIXED] The game crashes at launch

So i get random screen freeze every 5-6 minutes in game. I can still hear things going on but screen frozen. No error pop-up to use as reference...

Dear Dev's...

Despite of reinstalling it over and over, clean cache blablabla... my game always opens two popup :

"Steam - Error. Failed to start process for Narcosis: OS Error 4294956486"

and another from MacOS which says

"The application "Narcosis.app" can't be opened."

Can you fix it asap ?

I have a 4k 70inch TV I'm attempting to play the game on through my Steam Link. The controller doesn't work once I get to the game menu. Tested it on the PC the game is running on, works fine. Tried again on the Steam Link, same problem. It's a wireless 360 controller with the official Microsoft wireless receiver. Windows 10 64 bit, AMD Ryzen 7, 64 Gigs RAM, MSI Radeon RX 580 GPU

This game is buggy as hell. I have read the thread and have everything needed installed and up to date still an xbox controller constantly behave like I was holding one stick to the left switching options constantly. If I can't play on controlers or on gamepad that game is dead o me. Game for VR designed with keyboard and mouse? What the friggin hell developers? Also can't launch from Oculus home when added to library because strange error appears.

Edit: I managed to get xbox360 pad working in the game but still when entering menu or checking crew logs it stops responding and have to use any imput from keyboard to make xbox360 gampad back to work. That's weird as ♥♥♥♥.

for some reason once i actually get into the game, into the ocean, my screen starts flashing purple, white, in random spots or it will do it all over the whole screen. it doesn't freeze or anything it just flickers like crazy, and my graphics card is up to date, my computer has run bigger games than this so i think it could possibly be a bug? i've re-downloaded the game twice but it's impossible for me to play it with the screen glitching out.

Game does not start, no error message pop up, no log of crash or anything in windows admin event viewer. When attempting launch, screen flashes black with a crosshair and sound starts for a second then goes back to desktop. This happens in both steam and directly from the .exe

You can try pass littlebit in regular mode not in VR i founs similar issue in one place, so i just passed this part in regular mode and before rest of the game in VR

When I try to play right after the Press E screen I get hung on this image. Sometimes some white lines appear and flicker but it never proceeds from here.

i5-4690k, windows 10, 16gb RAM and R9 270x Dual X as GPU.

Just in case this help anyone, if you are having the issue were the game launches for a second and then closes without any error message, it was solved for me in a way I don't quite understand. Opening it in big picture mode made it work, and once done it doesn't need big picture mode anymore, the game just works.

I know it is not much, but it what made my game to work. Maybe it can help you too.
