F.A.Q. & Help
Hello,

Thank you for supporting this game and we hope you get many hours of enjoyment from Cue Club 2! We decided to pin a page here with tips to help you get started and solve any potential issues. Please contact our team at support@bulldoginteractive.com if your query is not listed below and you need further assistance.

Installation - Getting Started

In the unlikely event that the game wont start, you should first ensure your Steam Interface is up to date. Go to the Steam client menu and click on 'Check for Steam Client Updates'. If running updates does not work then right click on the Cue Club 2 listing, then select 'Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files'.

Installation - AntiVirus whitelisting

Very occasionally, anti-virus software may prevent the game from installing or running. Cue Club 2 is perfectly safe to run, and so this will be a 'false positive' detection. Go into the AV settings and create a whitelisting for the Cue Club 2 EXE file (also known as an exclusion or exception). It is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cue Club 2\cueclub2.exe

Installation - DirectX

Steam should automatically install DirectX9.0c in order to run Cue Club 2, but if the game fails to start then you can perform a manual installation of the files, please follow this link:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Installation - DLL files

Cue Club 2 includes all the necessary files to run, but if you get a missing DLL message then please download and install this update from Microsoft:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53587

Select the file: vc_redist.x86.exe

Multiplayer - Finding Opponents

From the multiplayer lobby, click on the tab named 'Players'. If other players are active at the same time as you then they will appear here. If you have friends on Steam with the game, you can invite them to play using the Steam Client. You do not need to be friends with a player to see them in the lobby, and also non-Steam players should be visible too.

Multiplayer - Receiving in-game Alerts

If you would rather not wait in the lobby, then click on the 'Receive Alerts' button before exiting. Then you can go off any play against the computer or practice at the table, and when other players join the lobby and offer you a game or send a chat message, an icon will appear on-screen to notify you, along with a bell-ring.

Steam Achievements - Reset or update required
Start the game and go to 'File Management > Upload Saved Data', and wait for that process to complete. Then exit the game, log out of Steam, then log back in, and all the correct Steam Achievements should be restored.

Windowed Mode

Cue Club 2 starts in full screen mode by default. It is possible to run the game in Windowed mode too. Go to the Steam Client, right click on Cue Club 2, select 'Properties', and in the 'General' tab, select 'Set Launch Options', then enter the window size, eg: -w1600 -h900.

Another method is to create a shortcut on your desktop. Right click on the Cue Club 2 icon and select 'Properties', then choose the 'Shortcut' tab. Where it says 'Target', change the text to read something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cue Club 2\cueclub2.exe" -w1600 -h900, where 'w' is the width of the window in pixels, and 'h' is the height.

Deleting Game Settings - Full Reset

To restore Cue Club 2 settings to default values, you can use one of two methods.

Method 1 - Inside Game:

From the main menu select 'File Management > Delete Saved Data > Game Settings'
Select 'OK'

Method 2 - Outside Game:

Open a folder window on your desktop and navigate to
C:/Users/* User Name */AppData/Roaming/CueClub 2/
Delete the file 'system2.dat'

Hardware and Operating System - Minimum Spec

Cue Club 2 will happily run on PCs that meet the specification below. It does not require a particularly powerful setup to perform optimally, and 60fps at Full HD should be possible on most modern systems.

Operating System: Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP
Processor: 1.7 GHz Intel or AMD
Memory: 512 MB RAM
Storage: 200 MB Hard Disk Space
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Graphics: Onboard or dedicated graphics card
Sound: Windows compatible sound card
Input: Mouse, keyboard, gamepad or touchscreen device

Supported Resolutions

Cue Club 2 supports all screen resolutions and will default to your desktop settings. It automatically sets the aspect ratio so the balls will always appear round!

4K and ultra widescreen (21:9 and 32:9) displays are also supported in Cue Club 2.

Scaling in 4K

If you have a 4K monitor and have increased the scaling of the Windows desktop, then Cue Club 2 might not display correctly, and part of the image might be missing off the screen.

To solve this, open a file explorer from the desktop and navigate to the EXE file at:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cue Club 2\cueclub2.exe"

- Right click on the 'cueclub2.exe' file, then click 'Properties'.
- Click on the 'Compatibility' tab, then select 'Change high DPI settings'.
- Tick the box under 'High DPI scaling override', with scaling performed by the application.
