Cue Club 2: Pool & Snooker

Cue Club 2: Pool & Snooker

Cue Club 1
Hey, is there any chance you guys could release Cue Club 1 on Steam, updated to actually work on modern OS? I can't get it to work on Windows 7, best I achieved was getting ingame but the music doesn't work no matter what I do and it has color issues abound.
Ideally, would be nice to have it as free bonus to come with CC2, but I wouldn't mind it being standalone paid title, appropriately cheaper than CC2.

I dumped hundreds of hours into the first game back when my older brother introduced me to it back when I was still in primary school, so I have very fond memories of it.

Hi there. We've been asked about this before and the answer is Yes, as soon as we can free up a bit of time to do the conversion. It's likely we would remaster Cue Club 1 off the version 2 engine, so it would get all the latest tech updates like HD, widescreen, ultra-widescreen and full Windows 10 compatibility. Most likely a standalone title, and priced appropriately less than CC2.

That would be ideal. I actually managed to sort-of fix CC1 for myself in the past hour by getting a hold of the 1.64 patch (it's actually not that easy to find and your website doesn't have it anymore) and setting the game to WinXP SP2 compatibility mode, but the mouse is just extremely jerky. Moving slow movements works fine, but as soon as you make a faster move with the mouse it just refuses to move or "teleports" so to speak, definitely not an optimal experience.
Music also sort of works, it plays 1 track upon entering a match but then it goes into complete silence, not playing another track at all unless you quit a match and start a different one (just pausing to go back into main menu and back ingame doesn't help).

But still, despite this, I played a few Snooker matches for nostalgia in the Virtual Chat Room mode which also reminded me that it's one feature I'm really missing in CC2. I know that Bar Challenge sort of replaced it, but it doesn't have the atmosphere or the unique aspects of the Virtual Chat mode from CC1, so if you were to ever remake the game on CC2 engine, I'd hope you faithfully recreate it, rather than reducing it to meager Bar Challenge like in CC2.

Thank you for replying so fast by the way.

Nowadays I think they can create sort of that rooms in multiplayer mode.

Are there any updates on this? I am experiencing exactly the same problems as Canzah.

Thanks for the feedback on this, apologies for the late reply.

Marcin - It's a nice idea, but unlikely that can add officially licensed venues and tables. It requires agreements with the relevant authorities and companies. Those conversations could maybe happen in the future, but nothing currently in place.

iGrasmat - Cue Club is quite an old game and sometimes it can struggle to work on modern PCs. We did have plans to remaster this title using the CC2 engine, although work has not yet started as we've been constantly busy producing updates to Cue Club 2. Will try and look into this again soon.

You're right Jonathan, maybe someday it will be possible , it long enough we are waiting for the function of counting judges' points on the match in voice form, when it will be implemented

I solved my problem by changing the polling rate of my mouse to 125 Hz. In my case it was done through the SteelSeries GG software for my Rival 310, but I'm sure other gaming mice also have an option in their software. Otherwise the solution is to use or buy an old mouse with a low polling rate.

Now I only hope I can also run the game in windowed mode, as the resolution of the game is very low. Using Alt + Enter or adding the -window parameter to a shortcut did not help, unfortunately.
