Help Me Understand The Ending

I really enjoyed this game and it's story. But I didn't understand the ending. Can somebody please explain it to me?

Just a quick question first: did you get the four dreams?

Well the actual fox's body was transfered to where the "seed" placed itself. The seed somehow brought the fox back to life but in a larger form. The "Fox" spirit reunites with the seed and fox that is there.

One of the dreams mentioned, how guardians are not eternal, and neither are seasons. They form from seeds, likely taking the form of the creature, that accompanied them. For this reason, the current guardian of the summer is the cicade, while there are signs, it was formerly a deer.
Will the fox guardian take the place of the bear now? I could imagine it.

I smell a sequel.

Recall, in one of the dream sequences, that there weren't always four seasons; this world had as few as two at one point in its past. The way I interpret the extended ending... the fearful seed is transformed into a brand new, fifth season-- the titular "season after fall" --through the power of the ritual, while the fox and player-character merge to become her guardian.

In the last scene it's pretty evident that the "fox" spirit merged with the dead fox and became a guardian. The art used is very similar to the bear guardian (big blurry animal with glowy eyes). I still don't really understand the role of the Seed in all of this.

I thought I heard in one part that the seed goes through the ritual and then travels away to start a new forest or something? I saw it as that, and then she brought the fox's body to that new forest. When the spirit follows it merges with the fox and becomes the first guardian of that forest...but that's just me speculating.

i'm not sure. i would say the seed will be the new gardian because she became the stone. and it was looking like a stone of gardians.

btw the idea of the fox becomming the gardian is intersting but it has no stone ( and i don't think both unite together) and btw i think the fox is way too big in comparation to the other gardians bu i am not sure. i would like see a response of the creators. i would like to know what they wanted.

As I understood the seasons were all very stricted. As you switched between them, one ended and uptruplty another stared. But the fox could controll all of them and it was collecting flowers along the way making them bloom. So the Fox , being the carrier of the season Seed (as was a deer and bear before) beacame the fifth season - The Transition between seasons. - Let me know if it makes sense.
