The no continues achievement

Can it be unlucked on Mission Mode or do I have to go on a masochist's quest and finish this quarter eating game in one sitting in Arcade Mode? I asked this on MS1 discussion too, but no answers so far.

I try to 2 years without success, there was a correction of this bug so far

I'm not sure about Metal Slug 2. But in Metal Slug 3, you can cheat by playing 2 players, after you die 3 times just watch your friend finish the game (Your friend can die and continue normally).
I'm not sure if you required to be a Player 1 or not.
