Metal Slug 2 wasn't as polished and bug free as SNK thought it was when they released it. SNK ended up releasing Metal Slug X, fixing the faults of the game, and in improving the game in general.
Think of X as the Street Fighter 2 Turbo of Metal Slug 2.
