GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES

GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES

Separating Game Hit sounds from Music.
Hi Code Mystics,

Love all you work you did with rollback netcode. I was streaming this game earlier and realized that the "music" And the sound effects are tied to the game volume. Is there any chance of separating the two? Would really help streamers and it's usually a normal option in other fighting games. This game has amazing hit effects and voice acting and just would like to option to fight while listening to other music. Thanks so much!

Afraid not. That's an original game code modification. This is an emulator. The original game code says "make a sound" and the emulator obliges, but the emulator doesn't know if the sound is part of an effect or part of the music. (e.g. is that "make a percussive sound" a drum or a punch?)

there are no sound roms(that remove music only) for third strike on fightcade. so the precedent is there. pretty sure there are cheats on FBA that disable BGM. Unless for this game it works differently. If i remember correctly Garou has no BGM in training mode so why is it impossible outside that specific mode?

Didn't say impossible, :) but not trivial and more importantly SNK has long been adamant that the games remain authentic and unchanged. Genuine KOF97 didn't have a training mode so that's why weren't able to add one.
