live map not showing ores
I have been slowing trying to learn / use Budda's map generator; Keenan's map viewer; Ago's live map programs (I hope I got the author names correct). Got most everything to work, but I need to set up the map with rock (over / around some of the ore veins) and for some reason the ores are not showing up on live map. I did the edits to show both visible and hidden ores, but the "serversize" command (from bdew / Ago on official forum thread) gives me an error message.

Thought I would ask and see if anyone might have any suggestions (I am actually running the SP / local server option, from game launch. It might be that the ore generation option does not work in a non-dedicated server.)

goto the properties file for livemap.. the default location is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher\mods

showHiddenOre=false
>this will show only tyhe ores that are exposed.. ie the ones in an open cave sorridor..
showHiddenOre=true
>this should show all the ores in the area

restart the client

the properties file for me loks like this

classname=org.gotti.wurmonline.clientmods.livehudmap.LiveHudMapMod
classpath=livemap.jar
sharedClassLoader=true
# Enable High-resolution map. This may cause issues on the top and bottom edges of the 3d map
# false: Display only a 128x128 map
# true: Display full 256x256 detailed area
hiResMap=false
# Show hidden ore (ore tiles not adjacent to a tunnel tile)
# false: Only ore next to tunnel tiles is revealed
# true: All ore is displayed
showHiddenOre=false

<LOL> I just posted in your thread asking about client side mods.

Suggesting the only client side mod I knew about. Then find you have posted in my thread, with details on that same mod.

Thanks for the info - I had actually done all of that. The problem was I am stupid and did not realize I could only see the ores, while in a mine / cave. Since I was hoping to use it to locate ores from surface (so I could place rock tiles on a map I had created) there were no mines or caves.

But it is still a very nice mod and Ago gave me permission to use it in the class I am teaching in the Spring. Which is even better.

Cheers

Yep - old but not completely senile.

Hope you get some "real" leads on client side mods.

Thanks.
