Wurm Unlimited

Press Any Key...
Game will not load. I have gone through all the usual troubleshooting. (verifying files, updating, restarting, reinstalling) When I click play, I get a box (C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe) that says "press any key to continue...." when I press a key the box closes and nothing happens. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Server or client? What OS? How are you launching?
Krazy Tony Jan 7, 2016 @ 5:39am
Client, Win 10 Home 64-bit, Doesnt matter how I launch its the same. I have gone into the steam files and launched using the exe. Also tried launching using the play button from library. No matter how I launch it brings up the box mentioned above. I have made sure I have 64-bit java as well.
I have the same problem, pretty annoying.

If you open a command prompt window and change directory to your Steam\SteamApps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher directory then run Wurmlauncher.exe does it give an error message or do anything ?

Same issue, refund requested. Too bad, looked fun.

-Edit
Not going to fiddle with exe files, or command prompts. That is not a game.

PS: I figured out how to fix it.

Step 1) Open up the application folder and go to the sub directory of: Runtime

Step 2) Copy msvcr100.dll and place it into the WurmLauncher directory

Step 3) Facepalm because that had to be done.

-Edit
Still getting a refund, since I wanted to play a game and not do support. I like to wait a few weeks before helping out, since being a noob is not productive in the support department. Hope the fix works for others!

-Edit2
On second, non-baby thought, I will give it a go. (IE no refund, assuming I can get all the way in to the game) Sorry for the bawling, frustration is not a strong suit of mine.

Thanks for posting your fix Anthony.

What's really odd about this is that library should be installed in your system path, and not needed to be manually dumped in to the game's folder. Are you running an international version of Windows by chance? I've seen odd things happen with that.

Anthony your fix worked. Thank you. Now to the next issue :)

I copied the file from runtime and pasted in the WurmLauncher folder, problem is still there for me.

Fixed. Launcher config was screwed up.

I take back what I said. This method works.

Over a year has gone by and perhaps some feedback on why this "fix" was even needed? That library should have been installed in your Windows path. Please let me know if you're using an International version of Windows. Otherwise all I can think of is that something failed on the C++ library install and it never registered the DLLs properly.

Just your normal standard Windows 10. I had to copy the .dll from the lib and move it into 'lib' folder of the Wurmlauncher > Launcher folder. Just that.

I finally played a few hours last night.....It was what I thought it was, a small silly issue.

i got the same issue but it was my own wrong doing, the thing that made it was that i changed the false to true, when i changed back to false it was all good.
