Custom colors and selective dyeing.
Dyes would be made many times better if you could mix them to produce a custom RGB value based on the weights of ingredients. Woad, for instance, could be added to increase the overall blue value, while zinc would increase the brightness.

Currently, dyes just apply a hue to an entire model. On a ship, for instance, the sails and hulls are dyed together, as well as any ropes in the rigging. It just does not look right. Set it up so models can have different color zones, and dyes will be MUCH more useful. Perhaps even the ability to set custom patterns to the sail? Or being able to paint the plaster sections of a wall while leaving the beams natural? Apply this to clothes, armor, tabards and shields and you throw the doors wide open for heraldry. I might wear a Jen Kellon tabard, but my shield would bear either my family crest or the flag of my settlement. If a settlement gets together and raises a castle, they really should be able to put their own flag on it, not some generic banner. Carts and especially wagons would also benefit from this, as well as the cloth horse barding. Imagine two cavalry units actually being able to tell each other apart at a glance!

Yes, I realize this needs an engine overhaul. But I am pretty sure the long timers and newcomers alike would kiss you for it.
