Thumbs down to this idea/suggestion.
The reason this doesnt already exist is because it would be too easy to make off with other peoples stuff. Those 150 left clicks, are what prevent you from robbing people blind.
In essence, if you roll into my base with a wagon, you dont get to just steal all my ♥♥♥♥ with a simple highlight all and move into your crates in the wagon.
I play vanilla wurm, and I'd hate to have that in the base game. It is not realistic. I like the weight/ dragging limit. So, I agree with KaosReigns
Other servers are modded for a reason. Some ppl don't like vanilla, while others do
As I have said in many posts before, if the admin of the server had the ability to use a setting to turn it on or off, ALL players could play the way they want to without it affecting those who want it to remain as it is.
There are multiple concerns with making it configurable on an individual basis.
First- if you want a menu for the config, that would require a client mod. You could have it turned on or off via a chat command, but then most players will never see it or know it exists.
Second- where do you store the setting? On the player's computer? Then you're looking at a client mod again. Easiest would be to add a new field to wurmplayers database, but that's risky. You can't predict with any certainty what effect that will have on future Wurm DB updates if your DB layout isn't as expected. So where do you safely store this information?
While what you're suggesting may be possible, it would add a significant amount of complexity to the existing mod.
Nope. Not at all what I was saying.
I like how vanilla is harder and I like the grind, just being the voice of the percent that actually likes keeping some of the settings in WU realistic (like not being able to pick up everything on one go).
If this was a feature that could be turned on and off as PvP is during set-up of the server, then I don't see a problem with it. But I do have a problem with this if it is just forced on vanilla like the 50 ql noob swords. That isn't cool.
No.... no you cant set what a player spawns with, unless you edit the actual files themselves. This isnt as simple as you are making it sound like at all.
There is an option for Starter gear though. That part is correct.
I've only been able to find mods where it allows you to manipulate Starter gear. I believe it use to be an option to disable the spawn in gear, but from what I have tested myself on my own server, and read on forums, this is not the case anymore.
Here are the threads I used for looking this info up:
