Row Boat

I found a row boat, but don't know how to row it. I right clicked the boat and tried both the captain and passenger commands and also made an oar thinking that would help but didn't see a way to use it.

Do I need to create my own row boat in order to be able to use it?

Same keys as walking/running. Make sure the boat is not beached. If it is, drag it and if that does not work, push or pull it until it is floating.

Thanks it may have been beached as it was really close to the shore. I'll try to move it next time I come across it (or another)

Examine the boat, if it is locked and owned by another person, if they dont allow usage to the public, you cannot use it. It will likely be moored, and locked.

Now that that is out of the way, under situations besides what is above. The owner/creator (incuding summoned ones by gms) is the manager for that item. Walking/swimming to its center, then right clicking and choosing to embark as commander or passanger should allow mounting, only the commander can "drive". WSAD are used for direction control as other mounts are but wind speed can impact movement. Once commander of the boat right click it from inside and choose raise anchor (if presently moored). This creates the moor in your inventory, and allows the boat to move. (you will need to reactivvate the moor to anchor it later)

inspect it, if it has below 10ql, repair and improve it, same thing with carts etc.
