Horseshoes?

Hi all,

I have some horseshoes that I want to equip on my horse, but whenever I try to drag it into its equipment slot, it says that I'm not allowed.

Does this have to do with not taming it properly, or what? All of the horseshoes are cooled down so I don't think that's the issue.

You need to tame it first I think.

You either need to tame them first as DogLegLeft said, or you need to brand them to a specific village and manage their permissions. The branding bit only works on PvE though.

Once tamed or branded on PvE (with proper permissions), you just Examine the horse, Look at > Equipment, and drag the shoes onto each foot.

I am having this problem too. I tame my horse which I previously put a saddle and bridle on. Now I try to put horseshoes (cool) but it keeps telling me I'm not allowed. Horse isn't branded - maybe I should make a branding iron and try that (just hate hearing the animals scream in pain when branded)

NM - I tamed something else and then tames horse again and it worked. Maybe the tame broke and I didn't realize it.

Tame animals show a green outline. They do untame after a while, (going back to a blue outline), so you have to keep feeding, grooming and taming them more to keep it topped up.

Grooming an untamed animal, I believe, helps prolong their lifespan
