How the ♥♥♥♥ do you not see the point? Are you blind?
This is NOT an issue in WURM because the game does NOT shake your head - it uses a stable guardian angel view at a constant eye level - you can even see your own head when farming. You can increase FOV to accomodate any tunnel vision sickness you might have. Your FOV will only swing when you use mouselook or turn keys, not when you do actions.
The choice has to be a server config because of the PVP/PVE advantages of 360 visuals that 3rd person gives you, it cannot be a client config because it puts those who prefer first person for immersion and VR play at a tactical disadvantage - everyone on the server has to agree on that choice.
personally i hate 1st person view.
As it's a slow paced game it would be nice to switch to 3rd sometimes e.g. while digging.
1st person is nice, but I feel like it's never quite 100% right, maybe VR headsets will fix that soon.
Any chance of VR support?
where?
Be warned however - every time I tried to change back to full screen on the fly, it crashed the game.
As I said, it's really more of an over-the-shoulder view. Kind of annoying to look at. If you could zoom out a little and have the camera more centered like a traditional 3rd person view, it would be much easier on the eyes.
If anyone knows if there's a way to do this, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise we'll just have to wait and see if they ever improve it. From what I understand though, it's been "experimental" for an abnormally long time.
I get that the primary concern is combat advantage in PVP. However, as someone who hates PVP and almost always plays alone, I would love to have the option. The option should be made to whoever is hosting. And if guests don't like it, they simply don't have to join.
Thanks Michael.
So many opinionated people throwing out their self-righteous indignation about an aspect of POV in a game, and being rude in the process by not even answering the question. Sad world.
