Whats the best container to store tools in?
I'm starting to get quite an array of tools, what the best sort of container to store the ones I'm not currently using in? A pile of tools on the floor seems a bit messy.

If playing solo the lack of locks won't matter with coffins. If you have it in a locked building or locked fenced/wall area it shouldn't matter either. Coffins will hold very large items that a chest won't.

And you can always store them in a cart - maybe you have a small cart you built and are no longer using to haul stuff, but it can still serve as storage.

I tned to use a chest next to my forge to save my metal imping tools (whetstone, hammers, etc.) since that is where I will need them. If I am raising sheep I might have one in my sheep pen that holds my scissors and possibly a grooming brush (though I usually carry that one). In your farming area maybe you want a coffin to store a rake and scythe. That way you always have your tools where you need them. You just have to remember to put them back :)

Do not leave your tools on the ground - they will decay. You either need to carry them or put them in a container or vehicle.

Large cart with large chests (or rafts) inside it. You can put every tool in the game inside this. If you're just starting out a small cart can work also. Rember to put the smaller tools inside something like a small chest in order to prevent the 100 items per a container limit.

i got sick of not being able to find my tools when i need them so i went the COFFIN route and i have to tell you it was the best decision ever, now i have all my tools in the same place, i also use a big storage bin for my nails planks, iron lumps rocks all that stuff, i'm really getting organised now, i even have a large crate for my wood scraps,
