Horses can walk right through my fence gates

So I am trying to breed horses. I built a large pen, around 6x6, with 2 gates. The horses can walk right out through the gates.

They cannot walk through the fence itself, but the gates appear worthless. What am I missing?

Never had that happen our our server. What are you using for a fence? Creative or adventure?

Its adventure. The fence was made by my daughter on her deed. Both fences have gate locks but are unlocked so we can walk straight through.

We tested with a pig, too, and it can also walk straight through. The description is "Wooden Fence". It is not that wooven fence thing.

it might have something to do with adventure mode. I cant know for sure.. I run all my clusters in creative mode.

try to lead or ride it in and out , and take it out for a block or to then see if it can. i have seen some times if the animal is to close to the gate or fince when it is made they will do that.

This might be it.

When we returned from a trip with the large cart, the horses no longer leave the fenced yard.

That's nothing, I've been able to walk right through trees and bushes. That's on custom maps with adventure and creative. Still this game is good. I've spent most of the week playing since I bought it. Best comparison I could make was Star Wars Galaxies which allowed you to do just about anything you wanted. I really love the crafting in this game . Reminds me so much of Star Wars Galaxies and the way I used to spend hour upon hour just crafting.

Yep. Even on single player (with my duaghter and I on a server alone) we get giddy over the crafting/skills. Currently, she is the carpenter and I am the blacksmith. It just take SOO long to raise skills!

I may have her make my house and give it to me.

you can do some thanges that will up the skills you are working on fast like carpentery make lost of staft they are need for handles , and all so stafts can be used to make pegs , and pegs will up your ship maling skills, and some ships need a lot of pegs, making a stone wall then upgraed it then destory it over and over this will up three skills at the same time, packing dirt will up the paving skills, lot of EZ thanges can add up fast.
