highway lamps

can a highway be built but not connected end to end (blue cats eyes)still maintain and refill lamps placed on the highway

I have not followed some of the changes in highways, however highway lamps are kept refilled if they are Blessed by a priest:

I do not think this prevents decay. If they are very high quality the decay will be very slow.

thanks for the info -- looks like i will just have to plant one or two and monitor the outcome
edit they work on highways without ending way stones

Blessed lamps will not use fuel anywhere off deed, not just on highways. They will still decay as per normal planted lamp/sign rules. No idea if that changes when placed on a highway.
