The house is too windy to provide protection.
I got this message after a White Dragon Hatchling burst through the doors. As I am running a dedicated server with just my wife and I, this is content that is a bit too much, particularly since the guards I've hired won't react to dragons. I ended up destroying it using a GM character.

I repaired the door, but when I try to use the bed, I get the message that the house is too windy, which wurmpedia says is because the house is unfinished.

There is no obvious damage remaining, but short examining every house wall, floor, and roof, is there an easy way to find out what needs to be fixed?

Not that I know of, however from what I remember the floors and roofs don't count towards a building being counted as "finished" enough to provide protection for a bed so start by focusing your investigation on the walls.

If all the outside walls are finished you should not get that message. However there is always the log out and back in suggestion sometimes the databases don't update right away.

I found it. Outside the house there is an arched porch, and one of the arches was destroyed, leaving just an unfinished wall segment.

i am a bit curious as to the incident itself, since i would hate having that happen.
did the dragon just show up with no warning?
and how exactly did you handle it?

Well, I am running a private server inhabited just by my wife and it. I've seen accounts on line that it takes 30 or so buffed out characters to take down a white dragon hatchling, so for my purposes, that content is excessive, particularly since guards ignore dragons. So I created a GM character and destroyed it using wand that is granted to GM characters. Equip the wand, activate it, right click on the beast, and select Destroy.

oh, i see. i run a private server as well, so i could definitely end up in a similar situation.
thank you for sharing!

You can definitely kill a hatchling with a couple people provided they are skilled enough fighters/mages and have high ql weapons

In my experience you can kill hatchlings alone in Wurm Unlimited if you have high enough fighting skill and equipment quality. (White being the weakest I've fought.) They are seriously nerfed from Wurm Online due to the significantly reduced player count. The Goblin Leader is also very killable alone, probably the easiest of all the unique creatures[www.wurmpedia.com].

I'm yet to defeat a full size dragon alone and currently have 82 skill fighting (with adamantine weapons and full drake armour) so I'm not sure it's possible.

Unique creatures[www.wurmpedia.com] will spawn randomly though only one of each creature at a time. (You won't get two white dragon hatchlings unless a GM manually spawns a 2nd/3rd/...) These get announced with a broadcast message, e.g. "Rumours of The venerable green dragon are starting to spread.", though you won't see this if you weren't in game at the time.

They will happily batter their way through fences and walls if they're blocking their path without an easy enough way around at a similar speed to lava. They also somewhat mark their territory without roaming too often, meaning that although they have far targeting sight to chase you, if you run away far enough from their "den" they'll give up on you and return to it. (Assuming you aren't engaged in a fight with them.)
