Long delay upon starting the launcher

I have had this issue since I started playing Wurm Unlimited, I assumed it was natural. I have recently found out it is not.

When I start Wurm from Steam, there is about a 20-60 second lag that slows my computer to a crawl. Audio is fine, but everything else is lagged out (mouse moves but in a long jerking action, video on second monitor stops playing).

Bob had suggested I allocate more ram to the launcher, which I did, but it did not help. I have searched the forum here and Wurm itself, but I have not found anything solid.

Anyone else having this issue, and/or found a solution? Its not a game breaker, but it is very annoying - especially since I have multiple characters and need to relog often.

*Computer specs are pretty strong (if a bit old), so I know that isnt the issue in itself: i7, SSD, 16gb ram, R9 380 GPU

It did not help me, unfortunately...

EDIT: I both deleted my keybindings file and updated my drivers for my GPU. The lag on monitor swapping is gone, and the startup lag seems way better. I assume the keybindings file affected the startup while the drivers affected the monitor swap (my assumptions are from the fact that I usually am up to date on my GPU drivers).

For the record, this happens to me on Windows 7 with dual monitors. Windows 10 has nothing to do with it.

For me at some point game generate keybindings.txt with hundreds duplicates and this cause very long launcher start time and switch settings profiles. Check Steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher\PlayerFiles\configs\default\keybindings.txt for many bindings duplicates. Or just delete this file(it will be recreated).

Has this been dealt with yet? I am experiencing this. it has been said to only have 1 monitor (I do) and delete keybindings (I did) and increase startup ram (I did) All drivers are up to date as is my java

win10 with dual+ monitors doesn't cause the problem, I run that setup normally and have done so on several other systems.

I would be interested to know which mode you are trying to play in, are you using full screen, windowed full screen or resizable window, I don't have the issue however I ALWAYS use resizable window since the other 2 modes have always had weird problems (including crashes on startup)

Also what video card are you using, Afira just mentions the CPU and RAM but what video card, if you guys are using intel HD built in video than don't expect much fixing as those are not supported. Also if you are using a laptop with nvidia you need to go into your nvidia control panel and tell the system to always use high performance nividia graphics chip for wurm, as if you allow the system to decide it will always use intel onboard for java programs.

I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone comes here looking for a solution like I did, I finally found an answer. There is a client mod that has solved this issue for me. Wurm Unlimited now opens very quickly.

It includes the option to automatically log in, but you do not have to use that BAT file.
