Is it possible now to light a coal pile without steel and flint ?
Hello everybody!

I'm somewhat new to Wurm and I am fiddling a little bit in solo play. I started a game where I threw all my starting gear to make a survival start. All but my steel and flint, because i read somewhere that to make charcoal, we NEED the steel and flint to light a charcoal pile. And to make a Steel and Flint, we NEED coal. But I just seen that in the last patch notes:

New: You are now able to light furnaces if you are lacking a steel and flint with a kindling and a hot burnable item, both of which will be consumed.
If you happened to throw away or lose your steel and flint, you can now use hot burning items (wooden tools, wooden scraps, logs, cotton, cloth) along with a kindling to light a forge or oven.
Note that the item must be 'burning' and will be consumed when lighting the furnace.
Reminder: You can create a campfire using just a wood scrap and a kindling in order to get your burning wood or cloth items hot enough to light the furnace

I was wondering: Is it possible to use this technique to light the charcoal pile too ?

(PS: sorry for any mistakes or mispelling, EN is not my native language)

Upd. You can light charcoal pile without steel and flint. Look-like you can light any light sourse with new method. You need active 'hot' (item starting dmg) wood item (or any other burning item like cloth) for example. Work with lanterns and lamps too (without placing it into campfire).

Yeah I know, but when you are a noob player with very low skills and thrown all your begginning stuff, it is not very advised to fight hell hound or lava spider XD (plus you must find one)

Well, I guess I will just keep my flint and stone to light my coal pile when the time come.

You can still create bows and easily kill a lava spider with it after some little training (much easier as melee). Yang and adolescenthell hound not so hard enemies too (melee).

About new firemaking, I test it soon.
This is been possible before, so possible now too to survive without any items from the start.

Anyway, now you can set fire to kilin, oven and forge without steel and flint, so it is not problem to live some time without this tool.
