All that is needed really is server modloader and servermap mod and a mapdump into .png
It is to ask the picture to the server host and you can manually update your client jar files and put it in there and it will show when you do M.

Please, do not attack the devs, they have nothing to do with this, it's not their fault if you do not want to use mods.
So the easiest mod would be to take the graphics.jar we provide and insert your map in there. We also don't use compression on that jar for patching reasons, so you can then compress it when you jar it back up if you so choose.
It's been on my list of things to sort out, but the network configuration issues were higher priority. The biggest issue here is that the server doesn't really send any asset data to the client. I can look into sending a map URL though, as I'm sure the client could fetch that.
