Show correct map (M) button.
I'm tearing my hair off my skull.. I can't for my life figure out how to show my custom map when i press M button to show the map in-game.

At first it showed Ocrea, then i fiddled with something I don't know what now it shows all the Wurm Online worlds.

HOW do i make the server show the map in-game when pressing M.

I do not want any client side mods, i want every player joining in should be able to press M, and then simply show the map.

DEVS DOES IT HAS TO BE THAT HARD TO FIX THAT?

Unless you draw your custom map youself then it is deffinitly not possible without using mods like "live map". The real maps are not even interactive maps, they are just a drawn map like the one you use in real life.

There is however a mod that i've found that is called Servermap, but it can't get it to work while others do.

All that is needed really is server modloader and servermap mod and a mapdump into .png

There is only one way without the serverpacks mods (both client and server, it allows the send/receive of a little file containing the picture. )

It is to ask the picture to the server host and you can manually update your client jar files and put it in there and it will show when you do M.

Please, do not attack the devs, they have nothing to do with this, it's not their fault if you do not want to use mods.

As others have said, the only way is with a modification. Those maps are actually in the graphics pack of the client. The map name field on the server entry, which is only editable via a direct database edit, is sent to the client to tell it which map asset from the graphics.jar to use.

So the easiest mod would be to take the graphics.jar we provide and insert your map in there. We also don't use compression on that jar for patching reasons, so you can then compress it when you jar it back up if you so choose.

I missed this somehow in my first reply!

It's been on my list of things to sort out, but the network configuration issues were higher priority. The biggest issue here is that the server doesn't really send any asset data to the client. I can look into sending a map URL though, as I'm sure the client could fetch that.

It would help alot if an .png is present in some specific folder, it would automaticly send that to the client as they connect and they would see the correct map while pressing (M).

One of the reasons I love this game so much, the devs are close to the community and read most of our posts and take everything we say (mostly) under consideration.

More devs should take example on them.
