Launched from Windows Explorer, the process window should not auto-close, allowing you to see an error message. It's most likely one of the Visual C++ Runtime Libraries not being found.
Click start server, command prompt opens gets to load servers, runs some more script and then both windows close.
I've check the forums, I've search online, I've downloaded all the Visual runtime libraries I could find. I've updated Java. I've updated all my drivers...
What the hell is left to do...
Edit: "Start Server" requires a little more setup than the other option, "Start Offline Server" Namely the IP Addresses.
Unless you are both a) running a multi-server cluster and b) have multiple NICs per computer, both the "internal" and "external" IP address should be set to the IP address of the computer that Wurm Server is running on. If your computer is assigned an IP Address via DHCP it is likely (even inevitable) that its IP Address will change over time- each time it changes you will need to re-run the server setup to update it.
INFO: Shutting down the server - cause:
java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: bind
But I am using the correct IP Addresses. So for some reason Wurm isn't recognizing it.
If another program has already bound to the IP:Port that Wurm is set to, you'll get a failure to bind message like you pasted above.
Just to be perfectly clear (frankly, using the plural form there concerns me), in the Wurm Server config, both the "Server External IP Address" and "Server Internal IP Address" fields should be set to the same value. Your computer's LAN IP Address- not your modem's address, not your router's address, not your public/WAN IP address.
IF this server is for you only and is not going to be open to the public, you can use the loopback address (127.0.0.1) in both fields. This requires pressing the "start offline server" button instead of the "start server" option.
