End of Iggy Sales - Note from Devs
Hello everyone, thank you for all reaching out and making your voices heard on this. First off, I don't really use this account anymore so I promise I'm not trying to dodge questions, sorry for the delayed response. A lot of you have asked the same questions so I will go ahead and address them here:

Q: Will I still be able to play Iggy?
A: Yes. Once a game is on your Steam Library it will be accessible to you even after sales of a game stops. If you ever need to redownload it or move it to a new computer, it will still be in your Steam Library.

Q: Can we have a sale?
A: Bro, it's a $5 game, just support the devs, but yes there was a final sale and it looks like a lot of you were able to pick it up, woot!

Q: Why take Iggy off of Steam?
A: The answer to this is a long one and a rather emotional one. In 2013 we took 2 years of our life to create a video game with no prior knowledge on how to make a game and we did it. In the process, we had to take out loans to pay for programs, contracts, rent and food, and other things to stay alive and continue working on the game. In total Iggy cost about $50k to make and that's without salary for each of us. Since we were not just doing it in our free time, we had to make up for the fact that neither of us were working outside of the game.

Iggy released in 2015 to outstanding reviews but we never had a budget for, nor experience with, advertising. The game went largely unknown for a very long time. We kept waiting for that one big break for people to find out about it. We feverishly reached out to youtubers, streamers, reviewers, anyone and everyone we could think of to get the game in the spotlight, nothing really stuck. After 4 months of this we realized that it wasn't going to happen and we went back to our old jobs.

Over the next 5 years we waited and hoped that Iggy would find that spotlight eventually but it never came. Every month we had to go through and do the accounting for Iggy, send money to the places it was owed, send in reports, and every few months we had to end in reports to the owner of the engine that Iggy runs on. This is more work than it sounds and became more stressful as time went on. We also had to pay taxes on the money Iggy made each year and because Ginger Labs LLC was a business we had to hire someone who knew how to do business taxes every year so a large chunk of what we made went to pay for someone to do the taxes.

Eventually Iggy started bringing in less and less each month and in 2019 there were several months were Iggy made so little that we didn't get paid until the following pay period for it. While I cannot disclose the exact amount that Iggy made over the last 5 years, of the $50k that we were in debt, we were unable to pay almost half of it.

While we are incredibly proud of what we made and how amazing Iggy turned out and how much we love this game and loved making this game, it is a bit of a sore spot for us. We had an absolute blast making it, we loved every minute, and while we would have loved to be able to create an Iggy 2, it just wasn't something that happened.

I would love to see an Iggy 2, I would love to do game design again, but neither of those things will come from Ginger Labs LLC. If someone wants to buy the rights to Iggy then that is another discussion.

I know some of you will think this is a cop-out answer and that we should have kept Iggy up, and you are welcome to your opinions, but we gave it our best shot, we did all that we could, and while we will forever love Iggy, it was time for us to move on.

Thank you all for all of the love and support that you have shown Iggy over the years. We are so happy that it meant so much to people and we are so glad you enjoyed our game.

Best wishes,
Ginger Labs LLC

It would be nice to have the game up for sale for a month as a final sale. I did not even hear about this game till a few days ago and wish I had a chance to purchase it. It shows up on my front page on steam but sadly I can not buy it.
FML I just bought my kid a gaming computer in large part so he could play Iggy. Another sale, especially during a time like this, would be so appreciated. Thank you for sharing all that went into making the game. You worked so hard and I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you but I hope someone buys the rights and pays you royally! My son loves it and the characters are awesome. I’m ready to buy a copy, I hope you’d consider selling one...
i hope someone buys the rights for iggys i would love to play the game but i didnt know what situation you guys were in, i hope it all works out in the end
Damn I just found out about this. Sorry to hear that you were not able to recoup. I played and finished the game and really liked it and I even created the trading card badge. It is now the rarest badge I own (and probably will stay that way because the game has now been delisted). I wish you the best of luck for your future endeavors, thank you for creating this game. :steamsad::meatytears:
Hey, I'm sure this is a shot in the dark at this point, but is there any way to still pick up Iggy? My son just discovered a youtube video of this game being played and we were sad to see it no longer for sale. If there are still any codes anywhere I'd love to pick up a copy!

I got it back in Demember through G2a I think but I'm not seeing any keys available now at the moment sorry
They closed it and vanished..
So since they're gone and all that, I guess there's nobody around now to tell any of us we can't just make a "Iggy's Remastered Adventure" then huh?
