Yes but I was more so meaning setting it all up in-game. I rented an assetto corsa server just out of curiosity and felt like I needed a college degree just to set up a single quick race. I'm computer-literate to a certain extent but that experience made me feel overwhelmed. Pcars2 and AMS2 its so simple even a lizard-brain idiot like me can do it.
@ Fliimsy: I understand your problem. It´s a pain in the ass to host a LAN-Game in rFactor 2. In PCars 2, AMS 2 and even rFactor 1 it´s total simple.
But i have absolutly no hope that this function will come to rFactor 2...
If they really do bring a multiplayer hosting option like AMS2 one day, along with easy mod downloads for peers from the host, I'd definitely give this another go. Same thing goes for Sims like AC which have really good content, but just too troublesome to host a dedicated server.
In my mind, I'm always thinking how our old school Counter-strike could be so user friendly for adding maps and sharing with peers that simply join the server.
The release candidate moved to the live environment today. A server can now be setup from within rfactor 2.
Currently doesn't support 3rd party content, due to licencing issues.
It is a paid service, as it uses Amazon AWS as the Dedicated Server.
