External Mods?
So as I experience enough Game crashes as it is, I don't really want to be messing with Files before asking, but do External Mods work in the Steam Edition, and if so, is there any particular way they need to be installed?

Thnx.

Just place in packages folder and install them within the launcher. Easy-peasy.

That's for the non-Steam version. The Steam version has local and workshop all in one tab.

That's strange, I bought rf2 from steam. What did I do wrong? And how can I change to the steamversion?

You already have the Steam version. There is nothing you have to do.

okay, thanks. I see that I can update by restarting, so that will be fine.

I just bought rfactor2 here. Everything works great, except when I try to install external mods. I followed these intructions exactly:

The problem i'm having is the mod manager shows no added mods no matter what I try,so I can't install them. What am I doing wrong?

Did you point it to the folder where you have put those mods?
XTREMEINC Feb 18, 2016 @ 4:47pm
its in c:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\rFactor2\packages Thats where the mods are and where I pointed it to look. but none of them show up.

Which Mods are you trying to install?

You can also keep a separate packages folder elsewhere. i.e. I keep one on a separate drive with the config pointing to it so I can download whatever, whenever and the launcher/package installer sees that content always.

Trying to install the DWD dirt mods. They are in exe installers and I also pointed them to install in that packages folder.

Also thanks R. C. I'll try that and see if that works.
