game won't launch
Click launch, see a little steam message saying rFactor 2 is launching. then nothing.

tried going into the folder. tried starting both 32 bit version and 64 bit version as well as using the launcher. nothing.

tried verifying game cache. nothing..

WTF, i pay 30 bucks and litterally get NOTHING.. all other games I have work perfectly so it's not my computer.

edit: now when i click the launcher in the rFactor folder i get a application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) message

edit 2: well apparently it has to do with missing dll's... I checked i have all the stuff that is supposed to provide the dll's. And i'm not about to start messing with manually downloading dll's. so maybe someone has an idea but if not I'll be getting a refund really soon.

I'd go to your Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Support\Runtimes folder and install all 4 of those files and try again.

yeah, i have all the things mentioned in the FAQ installed and I don't have the time to spend hours trying to get this game to work. there are plenty other games to play. I just requested the refund, so this thread is now over.

Could be a bad track or mod conflicting.Take out the track or series that you are starting rfactor 2 with and try again.Use to happen to me all the time.Best to startup with one of the default tracks and series then switch it to a different mod after that.I had to start with clio or it wouldn't start at all which means you will have to change back to one of the defaults before closing the game or it will just keep happening.

There are a couple of installers in the Support\Runtimes folder that you can try installing manually. They should be installed automatically, but apparently for a small group of people they fail (which is a reason for also packaging them like this).
